I had a lot of fun decorating the garden for the holiday.
I put mini pinwheels on the lemon tree.
And what’s a holiday without a flag themed windsock?
These are coming along, but not ready yet.
I’m hoping the melon does well this year. I’ve had trouble with them in the past, but so far, so good.
I put the corn on the front deck this year and I can already see some small ears of corn growing. Let’s just hope I don’t get the ant invasion like I did last year. I guess that’s a sign of sweet corn!
This is another new variety for me–the Brown Derby. It’s looking good.
This is a “volunteer” tomato from last year. It’s been producing for the last month–and they’re really sweet and tasty.
I finally moved my custom made table from Morocco out to the front deck. I love it so much and I don’t want it to get ruined–but it was meant to be outside. It really comes in handy when I’m BBQing.
Remember when I had the strawberry thief? Not this year! I can usually pick 4 or 5 every morning and they are perfectly sweet!
My patriotic roses–now I just need something blue.
Here’s my Jazz Fest flag! I looked all over New Orleans for this flag and couldn’t find one anywhere. They hang all over town, but no one sells them. As I was waiting on the tarmac in New Orleans on my way home from Jake’s graduation last weekend I Googled Jazz Fest flags and found one for sale!!!! I am so happy to have a little bit of New Orleans in my garden along with my Moroccan flag!
But I am NOT HAPPY to have this moth in my garden! I hate moths and yes, I am afraid of them (don’t ask) and there was no way I was going to try to remove it. When you see me complain in the next month about the pests eating my tomatoes, remember this photo! (He was gone this morning, but I don’t know where he went).
This is the view of my hibiscus from inside my house. They are truly over 10 feet tall!
