A "Double Dip" Fruit Salad for Jerry, George & Elaine!

If you need to bring a dish for a large gathering–it doesn’t get any easier than this fruit salad. Add two yogurt-based dipping sauces–one with honey and the other with brown sugar and mascarpone–and you have a big hit!

Oh about the title…if you don’t know who Jerry, George and Elaine are…keep reading.

I like to cut all the fruit before I toss it in the bowl–that way I can layer it in and balance the colors. And this way you don’t get too much of one fruit.

(If you’re really in a pinch for time, buy the “packaged fruit salad” at the market, but NEVER serve it in that ugly plastic container. Take out the fruit, cut it into uniform pieces, and put it in a nice bowl. You’ll be surprised how much more appetizing it looks that way.)

Here’s how I start…

And here’s how it looks when I’m done.

Now for the double dipping sauces.

Honey Yogurt Sauce
2 cups good Greek yogurt
2 TBS good honey
1/2 tsp vanilla

Mix all ingredients together and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Mascarpone-Yogurt-Brown Sugar Sauce

6 oz. mascarpone, room temperature
2 cups Greek yogurt
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
chopped walnuts

Mix all ingredients and refrigerate until about 1/2 before serving.

You can serve it just like this…

Or get fancy and add labels for the dips and fun decorations.

Either way, it’s a refreshing addition to lunch, brunch or dinner. It’s even a great light dessert.

And as I always say, Enjoy!

*Now…about Jerry, George and Elaine. You knew, huh? Yes, this was my little homage to that great “double dip” episode on Seinfeld.*

And this week I want to give a big hello to my newest readers in Argentina and Egypt! Thanks for visiting my site–hope you enjoyed it and come back again soon.
